Our Rivers.
Our Legacy.

What guides us

Our Values

Science-Led Conservation

Every decision we make is grounded in field research, population data, and ecological science — not assumption. Evidence drives our programs, our hatchery methods, and our advocacy.

Community at the Core

Lasting conservation only works when local communities are partners, not bystanders. We work alongside herders, anglers, and river communities who have lived alongside these waters for generations.

Protecting What Remains

We act before it is too late. Our focus is on saving endangered species that are still here — supporting natural breeding, sustaining healthy population numbers, and ensuring native fish continue to thrive in their rivers.

Long-Term Thinking

Conservation is not a short-term project. We build programs, partnerships, and institutions that will outlast any single season — because the rivers we protect deserve a future measured in generations, not years.

Who we are

Natural Fish Breeding is the head organization overseeing fish conservation and breeding projects across Mongolia. We coordinate efforts between regional projects including Natural Fish Breeding, Chuluut Tul, and Ilenkh.

Our work encompasses species reintroduction, fish reproduction and hatchery operations, and environmental conservation efforts spanning multiple river basins.

We carry out targeted research and active conservation measures across Mongolia's most critical waterways — advancing our vision for sustainable aquatic biodiversity.

Our vision:

Preservation. Conservation. Restoration.

Lead the effort to preserve aquatic biodiversity through innovative propagation techniques and fish recovery programs across Mongolia.

Coordinate and support regional conservation projects to deliver practical science for the real-world recovery of endangered native fish species.
